Outreach Report 5/16/2026
Team Members Present:
Steve, Peggy, Daniel D., Vangie, Don, Dan Y., Rebekah, Raymond, Kolton, Mia, Tommy, Doreen, and Linda.
Vangie made a wonderful pot of soup along with raspberry bars to go with it. We welcomed Doreen, as this was her first time going on outreach with us. We were also happy to have Peggy, Mia, and Tommy back with us. It was another beautiful sunny day here at NWC, so we gathered together in the parking lot for prayer.
Opening Prayer
12:20 PM – 12:40 PM
Peggy opened us in prayer with Psalm 5:8:
“Lead me, Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies—make Your way straight before me.” AMEN

Departure
1:30 PM
We discussed how nice it was to have the new van and be able to ride together. We used the other van to carry food, blankets, clothes, and essentials, which Don and Vangie rode in.
We are very thankful for our new van.
We then proceeded to our first location.
277th Pacific Hwy Transit Center Parking Lot
1:40 PM
GERRARD
Gerrard was in need of housing and received prayer from Rebekah and Don.
JADE
Jade was in a wheelchair with a broken foot. She did not say how it happened. She had large bags attached to the front and back of her wheelchair, and it almost seemed impossible for her to maneuver it. However, she said she was doing fine.
Peggy prayed for her broken foot, and Jade also received a blanket, food, and essentials.
BOON
Boon grew up in Kentucky. I do not recall how he ended up in Federal Way, but he received prayer for housing from Dan Y.
SKY
Sky spoke with Daniel D. about wanting to stop drinking, get sober, and possibly enter treatment. This was what he wanted prayer for.
His face had cleared up a lot since our last outreach, and he seemed to be doing a little better. Hopefully, in Jesus’ name, he will consider treatment.
Tommy and Raymond scouted around the corner to look for more friends. They saw people sitting in their cars and invited them to come get food, but no one came, so we moved on to our next location.
316th Off Pacific Hwy S Parking Lot (“Home Home”)
2:30 PM
SHAUN
Shaun is living inside his car with his male cat, Jasper. We spoke with him through the back hatch of his car while he was lying down.
Mia, Doreen, and I (Linda) brought him food and a bag of essentials.
Shaun requested prayer for housing. I began to pray, but for reasons I cannot explain, my words suddenly stopped and I could not continue. Mia and Doreen continued praying where I had stopped.
I was embarrassed this happened, but there was something in my spirit that I felt very strongly.
Shaun still received prayer for himself and his little furry companion to have a safe place to live.
We then left for the Safeway parking lot area where Christian Faith Center was doing outreach. They had tables set up with food, beverages, materials, and totes of clothing for those in need.
I (Linda) received a few items and thanked them. Some of their outreach team members came over to our van, and Vangie shared some of her soup with them.
They gathered everyone together for group prayer.
While there, we met two individuals who wanted to talk with us.
MICHAEL
Michael was sitting in a wheelchair. We brought him a bag, although he had paraphernalia in his hand.
Dan D. and Dan Y. crossed the street to speak with him, and Dan D. prayed for Michael.
JOE
Joe was standing beside a shopping cart that held all of his belongings. Dan Y. prayed for Joe.
The Day Center on 336th Street, across the street
Tommy, Daniel D., and Dan Y. walked up an incline searching for our friends, only to find police warning signs posted that read:
“Do Not Enter”
“Trespassing”
They were turned away from the property.
We felt burdened after seeing this and prayed for those staying there.
It then began to rain, so we moved on to our final location.

Federal Way Regional Library
3:23 PM
Steve, Raymond, Doreen, Dan Y., Kolton, and Peggy went inside the library to look for friends we may know.
The rest of the team spoke with three men gathered together outside with a dog. They had all their belongings laid out on a blanket on the ground.
DEVANTE
Devante was a young man around 23 years old. He had his head sticking out of the sunroof when I asked if he wanted food. He replied, “Yes.” He came over to the van while I prepared him a bag with essentials. The other two men also came over, and Don prayed for them.
PEPE
PePe received group prayer, food, and essentials.
JAY
Jay had a pit bull named King. He received food for himself and had a 50 lb. bag of dog food for King. We spent time talking with them until the others returned from inside the library.
Peggy shared that, after speaking with the manager, the library was hosting meetings for the homeless that help connect them with resources, housing applications, and assistance with other difficult life circumstances.
Suggestion for Future Outreach
We would like to suggest adding the Federal Way Library as another regular outreach location.
The team loaded up and headed back to NWC to debrief the mission.
Debrief
4:15 PM
Because of the rain, we held our debrief on the quieter side of the gym entrance.
We always ask our newest members what they thought about the outreach.
Doreen shared:
“It was good going out with you. I used to go out with a team in New York.”
She also stated she would like to join us again. We were very happy to hear that. She was extremely helpful and greatly needed today.
We also discussed strategies to improve our approach and interactions with our friends. These discussions will continue during our meeting on the 30th of this month.
We spoke about how close Junior was to entering treatment, and we continue praying for both him and Vince to take that important step.
Discussion Topic
“The Harm Reduction Act”
We discussed concerns regarding the distribution of needles, pipes, and other paraphernalia to the homeless in Seattle and other parts of Washington under harm reduction programs.
Our team believes treatment and recovery opportunities should be emphasized more strongly alongside outreach efforts.
